It's a snowstorm in New England today! Love snow fall for the first 5 minutes then find it crazy annoying. Anyways, another lippie post! I've heard a bunch of good things about Milani Lipsticks! I have been obsessed with the bright lipstick look (even though fiancé hates the bright lip look for some reason! Oh wells... for date nights I'll stick to the nudes!) Let me first start by saying I love the case! It's shiny gold and feels pretty substantial. I'm a virgin Milani Lipstick wearer and I think what swayed me to try something from this line was the gorgeous case. I'm such a sucker for things that sparkle under the light. I think they must have revamped the lipstick cases because I don't recall their previous cases looking so sleek. The peek-a-boo color swatch at the bottom was pretty helpful as well. Looks more like a HE lippie than what I actually paid... Which was a mere $2.59... less than what I spend at Dunk's or Buckie's when it's treat-myself to-coffee day. Let me explain. The actual price at CVS was $5.89 (a crime at the retail price!) But I actually went in looking for Creme Nude in this line and they were sold out. I asked the SA for a raincheck but she said they wouldn't give one out for the lipstick but she could offer me 50% off. That works for me! And I had an additional 50 cents off in Extra Bucks. Score!
Perfect excuse to pick up an otherwise spring apropos shade - Flamingo Pose --- and wear it all winter:) Something about the bright pop just makes me super happy. The color is a vibrant pink shade. I also chose it because it received a 100% review on makeupalley.com. Not too shabby;) The color makes my teeth look super white, which the nude shades just could never do. The formula is pigment rich. It is a cream finish and does boast some moisturizing properties, but I do need to wear a lip balm underneath. I paired it with some Carmex to sheer out the color a bit because it is extremely opaque. There is a Jolly Rancher watermelon fragrance about it, which I don't mind. The selection of colors is quite nice as well. Totally diggin' this line of lipsticks for sure. Pretty on my lips and pretty on my vanity. I still can't get over how it looks and performs as well as department store brands! What a great drugstore find!
