For the lips that is! Rimmel does it again with another home run nude lipstick. This was recently released for the Fall 2013 Duchess Collection. The color and formulation sure makes it feel like you are new royalty! An easy every day color that can transition from day to evening. For less than 6 or 7 bucks a pop, it might be a good idea to stock up if you love a good drugstore nude that leans pink with a hint of peach... so it doesn't run too cool. It's a quiet nude that is soft, romantic, and just gives you that girly natural look:)
I love the cheeky name, don't you?!?! The name alone made me run out and want to get a tube! As with all Rimmel lipsticks in the Moisture Renew line their is a perfume-y fragrance and chemical taste. After the second day of wearing it, I don't notice it anymore. The formula is rather moisturizing but because it's so cold in New England, I like to add a layer of balm underneath (Carmex or the medicated Chapstick in the blue tube because I like how it tingles!) I don't feel I need a lipgloss with this line either. There is a lovely shine (emphasized by the lip balm underneath) as you can see by the swatch on my (crooked and weird shaped) lips above. The formula is so comfortable and lasts for 3-4 hours. It really feels good on the lips so I don't mind reapplying:) It comes housed in a plastic shiny bright purple case. I'm not gonna lie, it looks a bit tacky and I do wish they would change the design or color or something...I kinda hate the case now that I think about it! But the formulation and colors are so lovely, I forget how hideous the case looks to me once I swipe it on. It snaps shut and the lid seems like it won't fall off. So it is definitely functional.
Totally recommend this lippie as well as Nude Delight! I love both shades and although they are both nude, they each give such a different lip look! LGN has pinkier under tones and ND is all peach. Rimmel definitely caters to the lipstick junkies who also likes a good value. Heck I would go so far as to say even if I became a millionaire, I'd still continue to purchase drugstore lippies and save my money to spurge on handbags and shoes!
I totally mean it too. I've been let down by MAC, Chanel, Nars. It's not to say that I haven't been let down by drugstore cosmetic companies as well. I have. However, armed with my own anecdotal experiences as well as information from the Internet (shout out to all the beauty mavens on YouTube and Makeupalley!), I don't see the need to spend $30 plus on a lipstick anymore. Again, it's all preference, I know... so whatever makes you happy go for it!
Happy Friday!
